We have limited the number of people for each session, We are using the government guidelines and our own intelligence to make the time at the pottery as safe as possible. The sessions will need to be booked and paid for in advance either for 1 session or more. The prices will remain the same at this point in time for each session booked. - Bookings for The wheels will be limited to 8 people per session. - Bookings for The Hand Building will be limited to 12 people per session. - Bookings for The Glazing pots will be limited to 4 people per session. All the people who attend and book a place on one of the sessions will only have the use of the area in the studio they have booked and will work in that area for the whole of the 2 hour session. This is to keep everyone as safe as we possibly can with the limited number of people in the studio at one time. We will be taking all bookings though either our email or Messenger, we will need the dates that you wish to attend and places will only be secured when we have received payments for the sessions. If several sessions are booked at one time then if changes need to be made in the booked sessions, we will need at least 1 weeks notice so we can offer the session to other people. We hope this information is clear enough for everyone and we hope that you are not put off with the regimental bookings that are needed, it will keep us all safe and hopefully feel relaxed enough to keep your creative heads on. The cost of the Hand-building classes is £12 per 2-hour session and £15 for a 2-hour 30-minute session. There is also a small charge for pre-fired finished work of £15 per kilo. We welcome those of you who have attended any of the throwing workshops or throwing courses and also anyone who knows how to throw a pot on the wheel to attend any of the hand-building sessions above to come and practice and further your skills on the potter's wheel. All the Throwing courses and workshop information are listed with prices below. Pottery Wheel Throwing Courses and Workshops
Hands On Pottery runs many courses for those wanting to learn to throw or to improve their throwing skills. The aim of the Throwing Courses and Workshops is to learn the skill of throwing, which takes time and practice and is not necessarily about the outcome of a finished pot. Our emphasis is on the process and mastering pottery skills and throwing techniques. Throwing classes are now limited to 8 students and are taught by a professional potter. Information for all Throwing Workshops and Courses Sensible clothing must be worn for these sessions as you are using an electrically powered pottery wheel that must be used correctly. Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting clay on as it can be a little messy. Please do not wear any clothes that are to loose or have anything that could get trapped in the wheel and Please wear sensible footwear, so no open-toe shoes, no flip flops and no high heels as you will need your feet to control the wheel's speed. Also, if you have long nails this will make learning to throw a difficult task as your nails will interfere with the throwing technique. Aprons will be provided to everyone who comes to the pottery which will help to keep some of the clay off your clothes but not all of it. When deposits for reservations have been made for the workshops and courses these are non-refundable if the workshop or course is cancelled less than 31 days before the start as it will not give us enough time to fill the place again in that short time. If a full payment is made then we will refund half of the payment unless it is less than 2 weeks before the start date of your workshop or course. When a deposit is made, an agreement of these terms has been made between Hands On Pottery and the buyer. All pots that have been made on the throwing workshops and courses will be stored for 2 months after they have been fired in the kiln, after this time if the pots have not been collected we will have to dispose of them as we do not have the space to keep them for longer. If an arrangement has been made with us that the pots are collected at a later date then we will keep them until that date and dispose of them if they are not collected on the arranged date. This is also part of the agreement and terms made between Hands On Pottery and Students when payment is made. Thank you for your understanding. Thank you |
