Hen and Stag Parties Hen and Stag parties are very popular at the pottery and are a fun alternative to the normal hen and stag events available. All workshops are run by experienced potters and give you and your friends a chance to try something fun together and have a lovely piece of pottery you have created to remember the occasion. We are based in Sherwood where there are lots of shops, restaurants and bars nearby for you to continue into the evening if you wish. All the above sessions are for two hours, which includes tuition, materials and firing costs. Finished work is ready for collection in approximately 4 weeks. Children’s Parties Parties for children are very popular at the pottery as they are fun and creative and are available for children of all ages. Experienced potters who have worked with children for many years run the workshops. The children will make and decorate their own pots, using the wheel or any of the hand building techniques, and are encouraged to use their own ideas and have fun together. Mobile Parties We also offer mobile parties where we bring all the necessary tools, equipment and materials to have a pottery party in your own home / garden (weather permitting). Prices £160 for up to 5 children Then £20 per child if booking for more than 6 children. The sessions are for two hours and include tuition, materials and firing costs. Finished pieces are ready for collection in approximately 4 weeks. Paint a Pot Parties Paint a pot parties are also available at the pottery or as an outreach party in your home. We offer a choice of pre-fired work for you to paint. All the above workshops are tailored to your particular groups needs and expectations. If you require more information please do not hesitate to get in touch on (0115 9602892) or email [email protected] Information for all workshops and Parties Sensible clothing must be worn for all these sessions Especially if the are attending a throwing workshop as you are using an electrically powered pottery wheel that needs to be used in the correct manner. Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting clay on as it can be a little messy. Please do not wear any clothes that are to loose or have anything that could get trapped in the wheel and Please wear sensible footwear, so no open toe shoes, no flip flops and no high heels as you will need your feet to control the speed of the wheel. Also, if you have long nails this will make learning to throw a very difficult task as your nails will interfere with the throwing technique. Aprons will be provided to everyone who comes to the pottery which will help to keep some of the clay off your clothes but not all of it. When deposits for reservations have been made for the workshops and parties these are non refundable if the workshop or course is canceled less than 31 days before the start as it will not give us enough time to fill the place again in that short time. If a full payment is made then we will refund half of the payment unless it is less than 2 weeks before the start date of your workshop or course. When a deposit is made, an agreement of these terms has been made between Hands On Pottery and the buyer. All pots that have been made on the workshops and parties will be stored for 2 months after they have been fired in the kiln, after this time if the pots have not been collected we will have to dispose of them as we do not have the space to keep them for longer. If an arrangement has been made with us that the pots are collected at a later date then we will keep them until that date and dispose of them if they are not collected on the arranged date. This is also part of the agreement and terms made between Hands On Pottery and Students when payment is made. Thank you for your understanding. Thank you |
